Tour deFleece Finish Line ! ! !

I thought I had all the braid spun till yesterday. I found the last half and spun that yesterday and plied today. 
I used the turkish spindle to wind the shorter parts that were left on my jumbo bobbins into cops then plied from them to use up the entire braid. 
I’ve never done that before! 
FINISHED !!! Yay!


Here's what I spun Saturday and posted for Tour deFleece. The bobbin and little bunch on the left is what I plied today. 
The big skein in the middle is a bunch of purple singles spun and plied on Friday.

Tour de Fleece update July 18-20, 2016

  My spinning for the week so far

 

 Singles -  Cormo .  White roving and brown batt I think. .....

 The purple and fawn colors were on the bobbin spun during the workshop this week. 

 It was held at the Gutierrez Hubble House, a national historic house in the South Valley of Albuquerque. 

 Under a grant from Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council and Las Aranas Spinning and Weaving Guild,  

 Spanish Colonial Textiles  were taught in the house and under the portal (porch). 

 There were 4 classes:  spinning, weaving, knitting socks, and colcha embroidery - 

 all crafts that were part of life in the Gutierrez Hubble House on El Camino Real.

 Plied yarn from Wednesday , July 20, 2016. 
 Romney undyed plied with dyed forest green variegated Romney. I liked spinning that.
 I got a nice balanced  single and 2 ply. That's a real accomplishment for me!

Tour de Fleece update

This was the start for me.

To observe and participate in Opening Day of Tour de Fleece, I did a spinning demonstration for my Crochet and Knitting students.

Bogged down blog.

I have bogged down on posting "stuff". I had some great pictures, but no way to load them. Then I got bogged down with LOTS of work, so no time to blog.

I kind of have a little more free time at the moment so hence, a post.

What am I working on?
2 prs of socks -
1. Austerman Step Yarn turquoise colorway, "Back to Basics" toe up pattern from Knitty.com.
2. Red Heart Heart & Sole with Aloe Green Envy, "An American in China" linen stitch pattern from Knitty.com

I finished my brown cardigan -Queensland Kathmandu Aran Tweed Yarn in Rust. The body of it fits SO well. The sleeves -yuk. I had a picture... I really did. I don't have a card reader to load it into the computer. Rats. Soon.

I'm still working on the Misty Garden scarf from Scarf Style. I'm using Mountain Colors Bearfoot Meadow Colorway superwash, mohair and nylon. It's a feather and fan pattern.Very pretty but it gets old after a time.

It's getting close to time for my classes to start again. I don't know what happened to this summer.

Addendum to this post- I joined the Tour de Fleece through Ravelry. I can't get the picture added to the sidebar here, but I AM in the Tour.
